And besides you take the whole Office 365 package with the subscription. If this is true, everyone relying their own data on Dropbox is at risk.īased in their support experience and honesty with their paid costumers, definitely everyone should be aware and backup their data somewhere else ASAP, specially if using Smart Sync. There are some rumors that they are going bankrupt, consequently loosing users' data. There are even some business fighting for months, trying to recover their files. They also ignore you in their social media. If you create another account to be able to comment in their discussion forum, you get banned as soon as you mention this issue. There is no support whatsoever, Dropbox is not a reliable service. In my case, I've lost eight years of my life in data because of this Smart Sync. All of a sudden, you lose access to all your files, even being a paying customer for years. They have been disabling lots of paid accounts with no reason and no beforehand notice. It seems you have no idea of the posts about Disabled Accounts lately. Actually, it's the WORST company I've ever heard of. Don't do that! There is no reason Dropbox is better than anything.

So basically, I have to deal with odd quirks every so often but overall it doesn't suck My desktop was flooded with files from another laptop that my wife uses and she puts everything on the desktop (she uses my account on the other pc) Suddenly a few days later it turned off. I have that turned OFF on my desktop, but suddenly one day it turned itself on, and wouldn't turn off. With OneDrive, you can have it set to sync your desktop, pictures and documents folder.

Prior versions of windows onedrive would stop working completely, though with windows 10/11 that doesn't seem to be an issue.

I was using dropbox about four or five years ago, but once I subscribed to office365, I largely stoppedĪnyways onedrive has its quirks and issues, I've run into problems where a given file will suddenly stop syncing. I've been asking around different sites on whether I should go with dropbox, and I'm sure over-thinking things but I figured let me ask some actual people who use dropbox.
